26 | 52

After the onslaught of activity the first weeks of summer brought, it was a rare treat to get away from this crew with my husband for 48 hours.  It was the second time we've done it in the past few months, and practice makes perfect.  I couldn't relax the first time (as it was perhaps the first time in a decade I spent the night away from the kids), but this past trip I was able to enjoy myself more.  My husband and I talked and laughed and ate and drank and I was immensely grateful for the respite.

Luckily, the kids can help look out for each other (and the animals and various chores), and once again, everyone was still smiling when we got home.  Even Grandma.
