I don't know how close we are to being over the hump of adjustment from the loss of both nursing and his binky.  The babe's had periods that seem to scream anger (literally), but perhaps it has been the pain of molars.  He is an altogether pleasant guy as a shopping buddy, though, (mostly anyway), and at the store yesterday the deli lady, the check out guy and the other shoppers all addressed him over me.  He responded with garbled chit chat.  Much more pleasant than the usual conversations of 'are they all yours?' or 'you must have your hands full!'  It helps that on this particular excursion, I didn't have any other kids along.

Pictured, though, is the afternoon birthday card run.  Luckily he was pleasant, then, too...because his sisters tried to push every musical, confetti wielding, $10 extravaganza of a birthday greeting on me. We went with the silent and slightly cheaper chicken in a tutu card.  For no other reason than I was done shopping.

what a lovely picture, and a cute kid too! Like your viewpoint and the symmetry you created with the lines of the shopper.
Had to laugh with your story in the supermarket, I raised 4 boys (youngest is now 23), so I know what it is!
