Embrace A Lot Of Nothing

I had high hopes for this last week before school.
Rein in the bedtimes.  Get back into the swing of things.
Getting up.  Getting dressed.  Making beds.  Organizing school supplies.

Yeah...that isn't really happening.
We are fighting to get out of pjs at ten.
Fighting to get through our Harry Potter chapter by nine...thirty.
Generally, we are enjoying a lot of late summer slouching.

We've also been baking up zucchini.  Four loaves of bread,  cupcakes
(I threw in some chocolate chips, skipped the frosting, and brought the butter and sugar down to a cup- divine
and we've got this cake cooling right now.

And after the stress of not getting up or organized...and stuffing our faces...we had a spa day
with an aromatic, herbal foot soak and massages. (The herbs were supposed to stay bundled...but I had to check on the cake...while my girls were left to their own devices with the herbs...)

And eventually, I had a Pepsi.
All this doing nothing seemed to be going on simultaneously, and it's been exhausting.

It's hard to get back into the swing of school. My oldest started this week.

Your day does look like a nice full day.
